By defining user Alert Preferences, users can choose which Alerts they want to receive, how they want receive them, and when they want to receive the Alerts.

Customizing your Alert Preferences by ASIN is a great way to tailor your Alerts, receiving urgent messages on your most important products and leaving others on their default preferences.

In order to streamline the process of managing these preferences for a large number of ASINs, we created Bulk Import for preferences. The Bulk Import process is a great way to manage preferences for large assortments or for any assortment with a high degree of preference customization, and you can even download the template with all of your ASINs pre-populated!

Get started by navigating to the "Alert Preferences" page. You can get there any time by clicking the user icon in the top right corner of any Market Labs screen and selecting "Alert Preferences." There are also direct links from the Offer Alerts page.

Listing Settings Template

The starting place for importing preferences in bulk is to first download a .csv template file. To download a blank template file, click "Import Listings". In the popup that appears, click the Download the CSV template link. The Listing Settings Template will download in .csv format with an example row for reference.

For each setting: use either "yes" to be notified immediately, or "no" to not be notified for this ASIN. To use the default settings for a listing, leave the value blank.

If you would like to download a template file with all of your ASINs already listed, check out our Export Listings feature.

Exporting Listings

From the "Alert Preferences" page click the "Export Listings" button to start the process of exporting the Listing Settings Template. This export from Market Labs will include all of your ASINs. You can choose to customize some or all of them, and can simply delete any without customization if you prefer.

For each setting: use either "yes" to be notified immediately, or "no" to not be notified for this ASIN. To use the default settings for a listing, leave the value blank.

Importing Listings

Once you have saved your .csv file with your customizations, click the "Import Listings" button from the "Alert Preferences" page. In the popup, click the file upload section to choose your file (only .csv files are allowed!) or you can simply drag-and-drop the file.

The file will upload and display a green checkmark to confirm it is ready for import. Click "Submit and Update Settings" to process the file.

After the file has finished processing it will show a confirmation page with the number of ASINs you successfully customized preferences for. If there were any errors, such as an invalid ASIN, those will also be displayed.
